Vizag RK Beach is all set to host the first Independence day celebrations of the newly formed State of Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will hoist the flag on August 15, 2015. Visakhapatnam (proposed smart city) to host State Government’s official Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2015.
Vizagites are very happy about this event as these kind of events bring more attention and importance to the city of destiny.
Event Timing
The event would be most likely held from 8.30 am to 10.40 am
The parade path would be from the Park Hotel to RK Beach, 15 contingents (Seven armed and eight un-armed) from various battalions such as AP Special Police, Armed Reserve, Civil police and other forces including Octopus and Greyhounds are likely to be part of the marching contingent. Dog squads, bomb squads and other forces will also showcase drills. A short cultural programme will be held as part of the celebrations.
RK Beach road till MVP Colony is under Police control as IB alerted that there could be terrorist attacks planned across metro cities in India. With VVIP & VIP gracing the indepence day celebrations Vizag security is tightened and all the important places are under Police surveillance.
Also Vizag Police is installing CC TV's and conducted mock drills to retaliate in untoward situations
